Camden Equine Centre is closed to the general public with no referral required. We have a team of internationally renowned equine specialists in sports medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, rehabilitation, pathology and diagnostic imaging who are available to care for your horse.

Contact our reception on 02 4655 0777 to discuss your horse’s needs and make an appointment.

To make an appointment we require the horse’s name, age, breed, sex, colour, and owner’s details. If you are bringing the horse to the hospital and are not the owner we require the details of the person bringing the horse and the details of the owner and the person/company to be charged.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. When you arrive at 410 Werombi Rd, Brownlow Hill you will see a sign for horse float entrance. Proceed to the gate and press the buzzer to gain access. You can then proceed into the hospital and will be directed to where to park and unload. There is horse float parking bays located within the general client parking, our staff will instruct you to move your vehicle to this location if needed.

During your appointment, the vet will discuss the full medical history and thoroughly examine your horse. The vet will then discuss any findings, tests required or further procedures needed along with the estimated cost. If your horse is admitted or requires further treatment or testing a 50% minimum deposit is required before the procedure. Your account must be settled in full before the horse leaves the hospital.

Payment Options

The University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Camden receives no subsidy for its veterinary services. The charges at the UVTHC are comparable to those of private veterinary practices and are kept to the minimum level possible that is consistent with the highest quality of care for the animals being treated.

Our policy requires a 50% deposit of the estimated treatment cost for all admissions into the hospital before any diagnostic investigations and treatment.

Full payment of the remaining balance is required at the time the animal is discharged from the hospital.

Travel fee

A travel fee of $2 per km (return) applies for all on-farm consultations. Discount travel fees apply for bookings by several owners within a single location. Call our reception team for an estimate.
